Summer Hours in Place for Design Room

I know it's been quite awhile since I have posted on the blog. Wedding Season is upon us and we've have had two terrific back to back design weekends. We have been busy with these weddings and realized May is already in full swing.

Plus, we are finalizing our selection of internship candidates and have enjoyed meeting them. Our decision will be soon.

Our summer hours are officially in place for our design room. All design room hours are by appointment only. We do offer limited evening and weekend hours, so please call to schedule an appointment at IL: 618-566-8840 or MO: 314-504-0644.

A previous blog I mentioned guilty pleasures. Here's another benefit of being a wedding coordinator is wedding cake. I truly L*O*V*E wedding cake! Since I wait until the guests have received their slice, I am never picky about what is available. When it is a cake from Red Velvet Cake Company, a division of 10th Street Baking Company in Belleville, Illinois, the anticipation grows even more!

Don Harwerth adds such a creative flair to his cakes. I remember a few years ago assisting a client who was looking for someone to create a devils food cake with a chocolate smooth frosting. Don was the Man! He told me there wouldn't be a crumb left and there wasn't. It was so decadent!

Villa Marie Winery - Guilty (and not so, guilty) Pleasures!

One of the best guilty pleasures of my business is checking out new venues! Today, I met with the event coordinator, Lynn, for lunch at the new Villa Marie Winery located in Maryville. The Tuscany Room can accommodate approximately 300 guests. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Just take at look at the gorgeous draping and archways! Ooh la la!

For lunch, I enjoyed a combination of Curried Chicken Salad on Croissant and French Onion Soup. Another guilty pleasure, sipping a glass of Villa Marie Arch View Red. Ooh la la!

I did, however; not even tempt myself with dessert (I am trying to lose a few extra pounds). I actually waited until I left to see what they had to offer.....oh! such temptation! So my (not so, guilty) pleasure would have been the Cherry Pie garnished with a dollop of Chantilly Cream. That would have been a double Ooh la la!

So brides, this venue is worth checking out. The facility also offers an outdoor pergola for the ceremony and the Vino Room is located downstairs. Seating is available for about 40 guest for a special occasion such as a bridal shower (or attention, grooms-to-be: a nice place to plan an engagement party after you have popped the question!)

Looking for RECYCLED PAPER for your invitations?

Wow! are we excited! We received two new invitation books this week. We have had several clients ask if we offered recycled paper for our invitations. Up until now, we have not. Since the Gateway Bridal Show in early January, I have been looking to see what is available.

We are pleased to offer the environmentally conscious consumer invitations made of recycled paper with at least 30% post-consumer fiber and delivered in boxes made from 100% recycled material....that is pretty cool!
